Dear Friends and Supporters of Leonard Peltier,

We have been made aware of Leonard being pulled from general population and placed in solitary confinement at Lewisburg, PA, where he is currently incarcerated.  We are very concerned for him because of his health challenges and his age.

Leonard Peltier, American Indian rights activist Leonard Peltier (born 1944) was convicted in the shooting deaths of two Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Leonard was injustly imprisoned for a crime he did not commit for over 36 years.  His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu, and Nelson Mandela are among those who have called for his release.  Amnesty International calls Leonard a political prisoner who represents how our country has mistreated indigenous peoples for centuries and continues to do so.

Dorothy Ninham,Director of Leonard Peltier’s Defense team has released a statement on his behalf, We are asking you to join us in expressing our concern to the Director of The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Mr. Harley Lappin. The following is the phone number to call and the address to forward concerns to: Tele:  202-514-2000  Fax:  202-307-6777

Mr. Harley Lappin, Director
